Sujets abordés Child Sexual Abuse
Statut : Études actives et recrutement actif
Dates : Sun 26 Mar 2017 à Thu 1 Jun 2017
What is the goal of this study?
The purpose of this project is to better understand the role of culture in the disclosure experiences of sexually abused youth, including the factors promoting or inhibiting disclosure.).

What will be required from participants?
The project involves conducting interviews with youth (16-24 years old) survivors of child sexual abuse about their disclosure experience. The interviews will be conducted in person or by telephone, as per the youth’s choice, and are expected to last between 45 and 60 minutes each. For this project, I will only recruit youth who are currently receiving services
What will come out of this research project?
The potential benefits of participation in this study are the exploration and expansion of a topic that is not heavily researched in Canada. I strongly believe in giving a voice to survivors and I hope that by allowing them to share their experiences within this research project, we can do so.
Ultimately, with this information, I hope to influence and encourage practice and policy changes to better support survivors and protect children. Finally, I commit myself to come and present in person the results of the project to the organizations that will have contributed in the recruitment of participants and collect reflections raised by the presentation.
What could be your contribution?
I would like to affix posters and drop off brochures at your organization as a method to recruit participants. If the need arises that a participant recruited from your organization requires support following the interview process, I will refer him or her back to you according to the means predetermined with your organization.

Thank you in advance,
