Centre de toxicomanie (CAMH)
Le Centre de toxicomanie et de santé mentale (CAMH), affilié à part entière à l'Université de Toronto, est le plus grand établissement de santé mentale et de toxicomanie au Canada. Grâce à ses traitements, à ses services communautaires et à ses services de recherche, d'éducation et de prévention accessibles, CAMH contribue à améliorer la qualité de vie des personnes aux prises avec une maladie mentale ou un problème de toxicomanie et à soutenir leur famille et leurs amis. CAMH a mis l'accent sur l'intégration harmonieuse des services de toxicomanie et de santé mentale dans un milieu fonctionnel souple. Il compte des installations centrales de soins cliniques et de recherche à Toronto et 26 bureaux satellites partout en Ontario qui offrent aux collectivités des renseignements en vue de faciliter la recherche de services communautaires et de fournir un soutien à l'élaboration de politiques, à la planification de systèmes, à l'évaluation, à la formation communautaire, à la recherche, à l'élaboration de programmes, à la promotion de la santé et à la prévention.

CAMH collabore avec le gouvernement à l'élaboration d'une politique publique et à l'élaboration des ressources nécessaires pour assurer la promotion de la santé et l'élimination des préjugés associés à la maladie mentale et à la toxicomanie.

CAMH est reconnu internationalement à titre de Centre collaborateur de l'Organisation panaméricaine de la santé et de l'Organisation mondiale de la Santé.

Addictions Program

CAMH’s Addictions Program offers services for people affected by drug or alcohol problems, gambling, smoking or other addictions, including those who have a concurrent mental health problem. CAMH provides a wide range of specialized services, including withdrawal management, residential treatment, outpatient services, counseling sessions for clients and for family members, as well as other services, all in a motivational and supportive environment that starts from where you are.

Child Youth and Family Program

The Child, Youth and Family Program is committed to client-centred care, providing intensive and specialized services for young people with mental health and/or addiction problems. We provide comprehensive assessments, medication consultations, specialized treatment groups for children and youth with mental health, substance use and/or other addictions.

Some of our outpatient services are:
* Better Behaviours Service: for children/youth with behavioural problems
* CATCH: a day treatment classroom for children (ages 6 - 8) with disruptive behaviour disorders
* Incredible Years Parenting Program and Dinosaur Social Skills Groups for chidlren ages 6 - 8.
* Psychiatric Consultation Service
* The Arson Prevention Program for Children: for children and youth who have been involved with fire.
* Adolescent Service (for court-ordered assessments)
* Gender Identity Service
* Mood and Anxiety Disorders Service
* Psychotic Disorders Service (for children up to their 14th birthday)
* Youth Addiction and Concurrent Disorders Service
* REACH: a day treatment program for youth who have addiction problems with or without a concurrent mental health concern.
* Substance Abuse Program for African Canadian and Caribbean Youth (SAPACCY)
* Strengthening Families for children 7 - 11 to help families who have been affected by alcohol, drugs or mental health challenges.
* Youth Outreach Service (education and information for youth, caregivers and professionals)

Complex Mental Illness / Schizophrenia Services provides care at all stages of the illness.

Services include prevention, treatment for first episode psychosis, medication assessment, monitoring and management of co-occurring metabolic problems or substance use problems, rehabilitation, and care for the severely and persistently mentally ill.

Services offered include outpatient, inpatient, rehabilitation and partial hospitalization services.

Services at Queen Street and College Street Sites.

Gender Identity Clinic
Program/Service of : Centre de toxicomanie (CAMH)
The Adult Gender Identity Clinic at CAMH offers consultations and support to anyone over 18 who wishes to explore issues related to their gender identity or gender dysphoria which may include any degree of transgender expression. We also conduct comprehensive assessments for transsexual clients seeking hormone treatment and/or sex reassignment surgery.

The Gender Identity Clinic provides psychoeducational sessions to families and consultation to employers of clinic clients, provided we have your signed consent. Otherwise all consultations are strictly confidential.

Ces services traitent les jeunes âgés de 16 à 24 ans qui ont un problème de toxicomanie, jumelé ou non à un trouble de santé mentale. Les services comprennent : consultation et l'évaluation ; gestion de cas limitée ; counseling individuel ou de groupe en consultations externes ; groupes de soutien en post-cure ; soutien familial ; programme complet de traitement de jour destiné aux clients qui désirent également fréquenter l'école secondaire ou améliorer leurs aptitudes à la vie quotidienne, ou les deux.

Une recommandation est nécessaire, sauf dans des cas spéciaux.
