Centre for Innovation in Peer Support including legacy TEACH-Support & Housing - Halton
Centre for Innovation in Peer Support (Centre) supports are now being offered in a virtual setting in direct response to physical distancing measures implemented to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The Centre’s virtual services and programs include:

Online Peer-led Support Groups:
Social Connections – no registration required, open to anyone 16+ in Ontario. These groups are offering opportunities to connect socially over a virtual platform. Topics include: Mindful Moments, The Centre Café, The Sharing Circle and The Games Room.
Self-Help Drop-In – require a brief pre-registration for participation, open to anyone 16+ in Ontario. Explore in a safe, stigma free environment and develop wellness tools. Groups include: Well BEing, Navigating Stress & Anxiety and Daily Wellness Planning.

One-to-One Peer Supports:
Peer Support Navigation – offers one-to-one peer support appointments via phone/teleconference. Sometimes exploring new supports feels uncomfortable. Our Peer Support Navigators are here to support YOUR needs! Peer Navigation and 1:1 services by phone, text or virtual Monday-Friday.
Peer Warm Line – In this time of uncertainty it’s not uncommon to experience feelings of loneliness, anxiety, anger or fear. Talk, and be heard by someone able to offer supportive listening. Monday-Friday, 12 noon to 5 pm: 289-644-1480.

Virtual System/Partner Offerings: Weekly on-line Communities of Practice for Peer Support Worker and one for Peer Support Supervisors. Open across province. Guidelines, manuals & toolkits, open to province. Training for peer positions, supervisors, teams and organizations. Support for peer program implementation. Quality improvement & evaluation support. Infrastructure & governance. Influencing policy & decision makers.
